Scammers are everywhere. You will not know one until you have become one of their victims. It would be best to check on a company or a persons records before dealing and closing a deal/s with them.

These scammers are terrible. There are really various kinds of scams and some may even appear as professional as those mentioned in the article. If you are not aware and not vigilant enough, you may fall from their trap and eventually find out that the money you have worked for is gone. So before you even trust anyone, you have to be more investigative by checking on their past records. You can do this quickly and anonymously on the Internet and by giving yourself time in doing it, you will always be safe from any scams.

This is the first time I have ever heard of such a scam. Very creative on the criminal end of things, however not the right thing to be doing, since fraud/scams are highly illegal. So far to the best of my knowledge, nothing so far has happened in Wisconsin.

Isn't it a shame that some people can't find a real job & make honest money other than trying to scam people who work hard and are honest people. I am a Dallas Realtor and one of my clients ALMOST fell into a loan modification scam. I had told her about a lender that I use, but she said a friend of hers referred her to one. What a friend!!! I don’t know if these Loan modification scammers can still sleep at night. How they will feel if what they are doing happen to them too. So we need to be more careful, wise at all time. Nice to know also about landlords asking for rent money when they don’t own the property anymore. Thanks for all these info.

I have heard of the Loan Modification scammers. The rental scam is a new one for me. Its good you guys were able to alert the authorities before someone got scammed. All these scam artists really get under my skin. Espically since they tend to prey on people that barely have two dimes to rub together.
