Here in Wales we are now seeing many repossessed properties going to auction and the auction prices are way below what they were 12 months ago. The current situation is reminiscent of what took place in the late 80s / early 90s. 2009 Promises to be a tough year for many as repossessions (foreclosures) will inevitably increase but, as the previous commenter has said, falling prices may be just what many people want. I agree with the last comment. I believe we are on an upward trend for more foreclosures. However, savvy investors can find a great deal on a house. Be careful and mindful before making any hasty decisions. Have an expert help you out if you don’t have a really good grasp on this market.

Hopefully buyers and investors will realize how undervalued so many homes are. I believe the first quarter of 2009 will see an explosion of foreclosures as the moratorium lifts.
