Chula Vista Real Estate
Located just 7 miles away from one of the largest border crossings in the USA, Chula Vista is a beautiful city and one of the most desirable places in San Diego to call home. Not only is Chula Vista that close to Mexico, it is also 7 miles away from downtown San Diego. The western areas of Chula Vista are by the Pacific Ocean and the beautiful San Diego bay. The eastern areas of Chula Vista feature some of the nicest planned communities in the nation. The entire Chula Vista area is undergoing a series of city beautification projects and neighborhood revamps that have been going on for a couple of years and are continuing.
Eastern Chula Vista has become one of the most sought after areas for families to live in all of San Diego. The reason for this is the desire to keep small town values and neighborhoods intact while living in a city as huge as San Diego. EastLake is a prime example of one of these communities. EastLake was developed on 3200 acres and the plan was to have a community that had everything you could imagine right outside your door. Schools, shopping, parks, and much more are right in EastLake eliminating the need for commuting and driving long distances. Did this plan work? Well, according to the Union-Tribune, for the past 10 years, EastLake has been voted as San Diego's best new home community. That speaks for itself. There are many other communities in Chula Vista such as Otay Mesa, Otay Ranch, and Lomas Verdes.
So what is there to do if you live in Chula Vista and the surrounding areas? Everything you could imagine. There is the Pacific Ocean, San Diego Bay, Knott's Berry Farm's new Soak City water park, and a close proximity to most of the San Diego attractions such as Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. There is also golfing, swimming, hiking, and much, much more.
If you are a sports fan, there have been rumors that the San Diego Chargers may be looking for a new stadium to be built in Chula Vista.
All of these features plus the ability to visit Mexico whenever you feel like shopping or eating some authentic Mexican cuisine are just some of the reasons Chula Vista is such a desirable place to live and to visit.
Chula Vista is located within the county of San Diego, approximately 15 minutes drive to Downtown San Diego.
