Coronado Real Estate
Coronado is on a peninsula that is usually accessed by driving across a toll bridge. This 7.4 square mile community is one of the most unique areas of San Diego. Not only do you have to pay a dollar to enter the community, there are only 2 ways to get there. There is the toll bridge and if you head south from Coronado, you can take the 75 and get to Imperial Beach. This partial isolation guarantees the crime rate in Coronado is almost non-existent. Coronado is also home to a couple different Naval bases and the world famous Hotel Del Coronado.
Property in Coronado is going to be fairly expensive so many people may need to explore their mortgage options carefully before buying. Coronado properties have a very high resale value due to the community and the very low crime rate. If you plan on investing, this is a great area.
Coronado, even though it is basically on the end of a peninsula, has very easy access to all parts of San Diego. Right across the bridge is downtown and to the south is Imperial Beach and Chula Vista. If you work in southern San Diego, and want to live somewhere a little upscale but very close, Coronado may be your perfect fit.
If you live in Coronado you have one of the finest strips of beach in the country. Recently, The Travel Channel named Coronado beach as the 2nd best beach in the entire country, often called the Silver Strand, this is a common jogging area for the President. Naturally this offers all types of water sports, swimming, and surfing as well as fishing and sailing. Coronado offers 15 miles of jogging and bicycle paths, an 18 hole golf course, many tennis courts, and a nicely maintained municipal pool. If you love the theater, there are two live theaters that put on various shows throughout the year. For the kids, a state of the art skate park opened there not too long ago.
Just one visit to Coronado is guaranteed to let you experience for yourself just why this is such an amazing community to live in. It has a small town feel, everyone is very friendly, and there are many outdoor activities to partake in. The only downside is for major purchases you might have to cross the bridge and go downtown.
Coronado is located within the county of San Diego, approximately 10 minutes drive to Downtown San Diego.
