Mount Laguna is located about 1 hour East of San Diego. With not much there, Mount Laguna is a peaceful retreat where many people go to relax. Mount Laguna has a high elevation and will let you experience all 4 seasons in a well forested setting. There will be snow in the winter and there are a couple good sledding areas.

Mount Laguna is mainly a cabin community. People in San Diego buy a cabin there and use it for vacation purposes and to get away from the city for a while. There are many well maintained campgrounds that are for public use and are frequented by Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts on camping trips. Some of these allow trailers and all of them allow tents and campfires.

Many people love the feeling they get in Mount Laguna as it is a very forested location and is full of wildlife. Squirrels and even the occasional deer wander around and make for great photos. It can be a wonderful break from big city life to buy or rent a cabin here and spend a few weeks. This makes for a great time share or investment property for the knowledgeable person.

There are only a handful of services available in Mount Laguna. There are places for food and gas but not much else. There is a visitor center and observatory that many people visit each year. The observatory is run by USCD and is frequented by professors and students all year long.

Mount Laguna is located within the county of San Diego, approximately 40 minutes drive to Downtown San Diego.
